Yoga Nidra: 12 good reasons to discover this practice


It's been a long time since I discovered Yoga Nidra and integrated it into my regular meditation practice, then trained extensively to teach it.

Yoga Nidra, sleep yoga, is a set of still meditation techniques intended to accompany the meditator in a deep experience of relaxation and immersion into his interiority.


I therefore wanted to offer you 12 good reasons to discover this practice, or rediscover it.


  1. Yoga Nidra will help you manage your stress, by offering you moments of relaxation and rest, and by teaching you through regular practice to develop another relationship with your body and with the signals it sends to you.

  2. Yoga Nidra will help you improve your sleep. The more we practice Yoga Nidra, the more there is an effect on our nights: sleep deepens and improves, you will learn to fall asleep more easily, but also to live better and better manage moments of insomnia.

  3. Yoga Nidra will bring you deep muscular and mental relaxation, promoting inner rest... how much we need it in this very special period.

  4. Yoga Nidra will give you a deep feeling of rest and renewal, better than a nap. Even a quarter of an hour of seated Yoga Nidra will give you a measurable feeling of being renewed and rested, of having new energy to start your day again.

  5. Yoga Nidra will help you soothe your emotions, not by pushing them away or numbing them, but by putting you in contact with the deep layers of your being and helping you welcome them into a space of peace. It is a great support in times, especially, when your emotions are raw and you are going through difficult times.

  6. Yoga Nidra, especially if practiced regularly, supports you during difficult periods in your life, particularly during illnesses or treatments, whether on a psychological or physical level.

  7. Yoga Nidra supports you with recurring problems of insomnia and fatigue. It helps you fall asleep, but also helps you alleviate fatigue due to insomnia by giving you access to a moment of rest in the middle of your days.

  8. Yoga Nidra can help you if you are dealing with chronic pain. Personally, he helped me enormously with the phantom pain that I felt after the amputation of my leg, to live better with it and even to reduce it very significantly.
